Many Madison Metro buses (including the campus buses: 80, 81, 85 and 82) are equipped with lifts to accommodate riders who use wheelchairs and other mobility devices.

However, if you are affected by a condition that makes it difficult for you to use the fixed route bus lines, or if you need to travel to an area not served directly by lift-equipped buses, you may qualify for paratransit service.

For more information on how this service works, placing reservations, hours and days of operations, how to file a complaint and other essential information, go to http://www.cityofmadison.com/metro/paratransit.

In order to qualify for curb to curb paratransit service, you must fill out an application. While Metro makes every effort to review applications promptly, and generally does complete their reviews within 7 to 14 days, they have up to 21 days from receipt of the application to issue a ruling. For more information about the application process or to check on the progress of your application, call Madison Metro's Paratransit Line.

Applications may be obtained by calling 266-4466 [TTY: (866) 704-2316] or e-mailing mymetrobus@cityofmadison.com. They are also available at the McBurney Disability Resource Center, 905 University Ave., 263-2741.
