The Campus Area Housing (CAH) office, a service of University Relations, has been UW–Madison’s official source for available privately-owned housing and consumer rental information for nearly 40 years.

Whether you are an undergraduate student moving off-campus for the first time or looking for your next rental, a transfer student, an international student, a graduate, doctorate, medical or law student, a researcher, faculty or staff member new to Madison, or any other member of our community, Campus Area Housing is here to assist you in your rental housing search. CAH offers rental information and resources on our website, by phone, and in person.

CAH maintains a consolidated and free searchable list of campus area rental vacancies, roommate openings, and sublets in apartments, houses, fraternity/sorority houses, co-operatives, and rooming houses. Users may select their criteria to generate a list of available rentals, complete with rental details and contact information.

CAH also features affordable advertising for area property owners, management companies, students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Listings may be submitted through the website.

Additional information about campus area housing and rental information can be found in the Campus Area Housing Rental Resource Guide
