Windows XP - Disabling System Restore
This document explains how to disable system restore in Windows XP. Windows XP uses a restore utility that backs up selected files automatically to the C:\_Restore folder. A backup file could be stored there that was infected with a virus that the virus scan can not delete. The System Restore Utility must be disabled to remove infected files from the C:\_Restore folder.
