Family support and crisis intervention agency for at-risk teens. Services include crisis counseling for teens and families; referrals; emergency 1-28-day foster home placement (with parental permission), case management, food, clothing as needed; group programs for youth and adults; community education programs, and a youth job center. Also have a gay, lesbian, bisexual support group, "Teens Like Us" (only one in Madison). 

Three main components of Runaway & Homeless Youth Program:
  • Temporary Shelter
  • Counseling and Support
  • 24-hour Counseling
Briarpatch is staffed mostly by volunteers and offers training three times per year. Both the crisis line and toll free line are available 24 hours. See website for volunteer opportunities

Free & Anonymous HIV testing is offered from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm every Wednesday, or by appointment. Appointments can be made by calling the above numbers or emailing
