SMPH Network: Incident Response

HLSC network resources are a critical infrastructure component. Each individual who is allowed access to the HSLC network has a reponsibility for maintaining the integrity of the network, through appropriate use.

HSLC networks are protected by firewall hardware and software which detects network traffic that may be a threat to network integrity. If an individual's computer is determined to be transmitting data which may be a threat to HSLC networks, the threat will be removed from the network by whatever actions are appropriate and necessary, including notifying the individual to remove the suspect software from the computer, notifying departmental supervisors, software reconfiguration by HSLC Desktop Support Staff, or removal of the computer's access to the network.

Staff are urged to be mindful of downloading files from any non-work related web site.  Even visiting a malware-infected web site can cause your computer to be compromised.   If you suspect any problem with your computer please do not hesitate to contact the HelpDesk.  The sooner we are notified, the sooner your computer will be back in safe working order.
