Coordinates biotechnology research on campus and builds up resources for that research. Goals include attracting new biotech industries to the area, sharing expertise with industry, training students for jobs, and familiarizing the public with the field. Members include faculty, staff, and students who do research in source area of biotechnology in more than 40 university departments.
These services offered include: DNA synthesis and sequencing, peptide synthesis, peptide sequencing and mass spectrometry of phosphopeptides and small metabolites, production of transgenic/knockout mice and rats, education programs and multimedia technology resources. Services are also available to state, regional, national and international researchers.
Tours of the facility and walk-in workshops are available by appointment only -- please schedule in advance. Weekly seminars by experts in the field; check website for dates and times.
