HI-Madison Hostel offers Madison's most affordable accommodations in a cozy, turn-of-the-century house. A great downtown location--only two blocks from the Capitol, State Street, and Monona Terrace and eight blocks from the UW campus. It offers both private and dorm-style shared rooms. Guests share bathroom facility with others.

Memberships is required in order to stay in a HI-USE hostel. Both foreign and domestic guests arriving without a membership at check-in can become members and stay by either purchasing a Daily Membership for $3 per day or a one year HI-USA adult of senior membership.

Amenities include: free Wi-Fi; free continental breakfast; fully equipped, shared guest kitchen; limited on-site parking.

Rates: $24-30/night for dorm style accommodations and $60/night for private rooms. ($22-27/night dorm bed and $57 private room rate for Hostelling International Members)

The hostel also has a kitchen with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, and cooking and eating utensils. A common room with a library, television, VCR, and internet kiosk. Laundry facilities. Free linens and towels. You can also find brochures for local museums, parks, and other sites and events. Volunteer hosts who can take you to Madison's museums, festivals, restaurants, and bars. There is no curfew in place. You can only check in during the hours 2:00-10:00pm.

Cancellations accepted up to 48 hours prior to arrival.

People of all ages are welcome at the Madison Hostel. Reservations can be made over the phone or online. Both VISA and MasterCard are accepted.
