  • Most WISC software is delivered as a download, but if yours came on a DVD, and you do not have a DVD drive, email WISC customer support at wiscsales@doit.wisc.edu.

  • You may receive your installation key in an email sent from WISC to the email address you submitted with your order. If you did not receive or have lost that email, please email your order number and a description of what you need to wiscsales@doit.wisc.edu.

Can I install the WISC Software I purchased on more than one computer?

  • In most cases, the license you purchase allows for installation on one personally-owned computer.

  • The student/faculty/staff Adobe products allow for two installations on, for example, a desktop and a laptop. Both computers must be owned by the person who purchased the software, is for the purchaser's exclusive use, and the installations cannot both be in use at the same time.

    • If you get a third computer on which you want to install your Adobe software, you can only do so by deactivating one of your previous installations (Help > Deactivate...). As of January 15, 2010, there is no longer a limit to the number of deactivations you can perform.

  • Endnote and Reference Manager purchases by students, faculty, or staff permit three installations on computers owned by the purchaser. Starting with X7, the three installations can be on any combination of Macs or PCs (the key you receive when you purchase will activate the software on either platform). The software is for the purchaser's use only and can only run on one computer at a time.

Can I install more than one version of the WISC Software I purchased?

  • Usually, yes.

    • Microsoft Office

      • You can run both 2007 and 2010 on the same computer, with these caveats:

        • Office 2007 has to be installed before Office 2010.
        • You cannot install the 64-bit version of Office 2010 if you have Office 2007 installed.
        • You cannot run more than one copy of Outlook.
