WiscVPN (Mac) - Connecting through Native VPN

This document covers how to connect to WiscVPN using the native VPN client in OSX 10.6 and above. For information on how to setup the native client, see: WiscVPN (Mac) - Configuring Native Client

There are two ways to connect to WiscVPN using the native OSX client. Using System Preferences each time or setting up a quick connect button.
Note: If you receive a configuration error when trying to connect, try rebooting your machine.

Using System Preferences

  1. Open the System Preferences. This can be done by either clicking on the System Preferences icon in the Dock or by going to Apple Menu -> System Preferences.

  2. Open the network pane by clicking the Network icon.

  3. Select the VPN connection you created in WiscVPN (Mac) - Configuring the Native Client in the left panel.

  4. In the main panel on the right, enter your NetID username. The server will prompt for your password during the connection attempt.
