UW Digital ID (Win) - Verifying Proper Installation of Your Digital Certificate

This document explains how to check that if your certificate was properly downloaded and installed; and is still valid.

For Internet Explorer:
  1. Open Internet Explorer.

  2. Click on Tools then Internet Options.

  3. Go to the Content tab then click on the Certificates button.

  4. Go to the Personal tab. All personal certificates currently installed will be displayed. Verify that your name appears in the Issued To field and that Entrust Education Shared Service Provider appears in the Issued By field. Confirm that your certificate is not expired by looking in the Expiration field.

  5. If you do not see your certificate listed, contact uwdigitalid@doit.wisc.edu and request assistance in getting a copy of your digital certificate.

For Chrome:
  1. Open Chrome.

  2. Select Settings under the chrome browser toolbar.

  3. Click Show advanced settings.

  4. Under HTTPS/SSL click on Manage certificates... button to view your certificates.
