WiscWeb CMS - Content Blocks - Using an Article Block

The Article Block is flexible in that it is commonly used for such simple purposes as adding paragraphs of text, an image, or headings to a page, but with knowledge of HTML it can be used for much more. We will focus on the simpler implementation of the block.

Refer to WiscWeb CMS - Content Blocks - General Steps to Implementing Content Blocks in order to insert an instance of an Article Block on your page. Then proceed to populate the content as described below.

Using an Article Block

  1. Click the Open Block red dot.

    Open Block button

Several red dots appear that allow you to configure the Article Block.

  2. To modify Block Options, click the F red dot in the black bar.

    modify Block Options

The Block Options allows you to set a few items to appear or not appear on the published page:

    • Show Title: will make the title (which you specified when creating the block) into a Heading 2

    • Show Author: will display your name at the top of the block, but beneath the title

    • Show Publish Date: will insert the date of this block's publication

  3. To change the title of the Article Block, click the red dot next to the title.
