WiscChat - Changing your saved password in Pidgin

This document describes how to change the saved password in the Pidgin Instant Messaging client for a standard WiscChat account. These directions are especially useful if you change your NetID password, and need to change the saved password in Pidgin.

Note: You should always be cautious about saving your password in an application. The convenience of saving the password must be weighed against the potential consequences if someone gains unauthorized access to your computer. Though this document describes procedures related to saved passwords, we do not recommend that you save your password.
  1. Start by opening Pidgin.

  2. Go to Accounts > Manage Accounts.
