WiscWeb CMS - Viewing/editing a Foundation page template

It is possible to make changes to the appearance of your site by modifying the Foundation page templates. Changes to the Foundation Pages will apply across the entire site. This document explains how to view and edit those Foundation Pages.

Viewing/Editing a Foundation Page

The Foundation pages for your project can be found in SmartTree, by navigating to Administer Content Classes > Foundation as shown below.

If you want to make a Foundation page edit that will affect every webpage on your site, you will potentially need to edit each of the three Foundation templates. Otherwise, if you only want to modify pages that are based on the Blank Web Page template, for example, you can modify that template alone.

  1. In SmartTree, select the Foundation template that you want to edit.

select the Foundation template to edit

  2. Click on "Edit Template" in the Action Menu.

    Edit Template button

A new window will appear, showing you the source code for the template.

  3. Edit the template as needed, and click OK in the lower-right corner.

Once finished, all of the pages in your project that utilize this template will be updated within the CMS.

Note: Be careful about editing non-HTML and non-CSS content in the template, as only certain portions of the template should be edited. See Document 13173 is unavailable at this time. for more information.
