Learn@UW - Receive "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" Message
If you are on Internet Explorer and request to view only web page content that was delivered securely, navigation to certain web pages may be canceled:
This will occur if you answered Yes to the following prompt:
In order to view the web page, you must answer No.
This is because some of the content pages may be linking to "http" (not secure) sites and some may be linking to "https" (secure) sites. Responding Yes to the above prompt prevents you from viewing those sites.
Alternatively, you may direct Internet Explorer not to issue the prompt warning of the use of mixed content. This will cause the non-secure content to be automatically delivered, but could possibly put you at risk if visiting an unfamiliar site.
If you wish to allow mixed content bypassing the prompt, do the following:
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
Click the Security tab, and then click the Custom Level button.
In the "Security Settings" dialog box, scroll to the "Display mixed content" setting in the "Miscellaneous" section (about 55% of the way down), and then click Enable.
Click OK in the Security Settings dialog box, and then click OK to exit Internet Options.
