Follow these steps to connect to a network drive on a Windows computer.

Before performing these steps, you must know the address of the network drive. On Windows, this address will look something like:

If you do not know the address for your network drive, please contact the TechZone.

  1. If you are off-campus, connect to WiscVPN: WiscVPN - How to Install, Connect, Uninstall, and Disconnect WiscVPN Palo Alto GlobalProtect.
  2. Open Windows Explorer (your file browser).
  3. In the left-hand navigation pane, right-click on This PC.
  4. [Windows 11 only] Select Show more options.
  5. Select Map network drive...
  6. Enter the address of the network drive in the "Folder" field.
  7. Check Reconnect at sign-in.
  8. Click Finish.

If you were successful, Windows Explorer will open the network drive. It will appear under "Network locations" in "This PC."
