Performance Evaluation Process
5. PERFORMANCE EVALUATION PROCESS125
- Work Planning/Goal Setting
Each fall there is a meeting between teacher and administrator where goals are set for the academic year. At the start of the goals setting process, the employee recaps recent achievements. Then they list overall job goals for the next 12 months including activities that will be performed to help meet those goals. Finally, a continuing educational plan is identified that will help support the goals identified.
- Classroom Evaluation
Each fall, teachers evaluate their own classroom using a prescribed evaluation tool and set goals for continuous improvement.
- Feedback
Ongoing feedback/support is provided via different methods including classroom observations, family program evaluations, peer feedback, and specific training related to individual needs.
- Annual Performance Review
Academic staff receive an annual written review of their performance. The evaluation criteria includes: Job knowledge/expertise, interactions with children, health and safety, work with families, supervision, creativity, organizational qualities, communication, professionalism, and growth & development.
