2116 Vilas Hall

This room contains an AV system with a large television, and multiple smaller screens around the room. Above the main screen is a camera for video conferencing. The room also has ceiling speakers and a microphone.
Using the TVs
To use the system tap "Touch to Begin" on the touch screen on the podium.

To use the desktop computer at the teacher station tap Desktop. You can also connect your own device by selecting one of the other available sources: USB-C and HDMI. There is a USB-C cable, and extra HDMI cable for these sources. The USB-C cable will charge your laptop, and allow you to connect to the in room camera, microphone, and speakers. You do not need to connect the HDMI cable when using the USB-C cable.

The smaller screens can be used independently of the main display. Plug your device in to the HDMI port below the TV you want to use and your device will replace what is being presented. You can also plug in your device to a smaller screen without having to turn on the main system. The connection will be detected and the screen will turn on for you.

Using the camera
To use the camera you must connect the USB-C cable to your device. In your conferencing software choose the room AV as your sources for microphone, speaker, and camera. The sources are named CR <room number> Room Devices (Room 2112 Vilas is named Q-SYS Core 8 Flex).

Troubleshooting
If you have no audio from your computer to the room speakers make sure you have selected the correct output on your device. On your Mac click the Control Center icon, then Sound, and finally select the correct output device (it will be something like HMDI, Crestron, Extron, CR 2111).
If you are plugged in to one of the displays and all you see is a desktop background you need to turn on mirroring. Tap Command + F1 or select System Preferences -> Displays. Control+click on the larger screen and select Mirror for Built-in Display.
If you are only seeing your desktop wallpaper on screens you are connected to on a Mac, type command+F1 to toggle screen mirroring.
