Directory Search (Mac) - Configuring Outlook 2011 for White Pages

This service can be used to look-up e-mail addresses based on names as they appear in the UW-Madison Directory Search.

  1. Launch Outlook.

  2. Select "Accounts..." from 'Tools' menu.

  3. Click on the "+" sign and select "Directory Service..." from the drop down menu.

  4. In the LDAP server: field, enter ldap.services.wisc.edu.

    Place a check mark within "Override default port" check box and enter "389" for the port.

    Un-check "Use SSL to connect (recommended)" check box

  5. Click Add Account button.

  6. On the account description screen, enter Directory Search within the "Account description" field.

  7. Click Advanced... button.

  8. On the "LDAP search options" screen, enter the following "Search base:" dc=wisc,dc=edu.

  9. Click OK button to continue.

  10. Close out of 'Accounts' window. Outlook is now able to search the LDAP directory!
