D2L - Rating Discussion Posts (UW-Madison)
UW-Madison is adopting Canvas as the single, centrally supported learning management system, and discontinuing support for Desire2Learn (D2L) and Moodle. Access to D2L and Moodle will permanently end June 1, 2018. For information about retaining materials from D2L or Moodle, please refer to this document.
D2L discussion posts can be rated to show to what extent each post is favored.
Posts are rated through a 5-star system, and Up Vote/Down Vote rating scheme, or an Up-Vote Only rating scheme.
Turning on the rating feature:
In order to activate the rating feature, one must be creating, or already have created, a discussion Forum and Topic. If you have never created a discussion forum or topic, please click on the following link to learn How to Create a Discussion Forum and Topic. When creating your discussion Topics you are able to define the rating scheme, or to leave one off entirely.
- From the Topic creation page, locate the Rate Posts section, about halfway down the creation dialog.
- Click the dropdown and see the variety of rating schemes outlined above:
