Scholarships@UW-Madison - Evaluator Help & FAQ
An introduction and help area specifically for Scholarships@UW-Madison Evaluators
Online Evaluation lists applications that are new, in progress, and complete. To begin an evaluation, click the name of the student that you wish to evaluate. A new tab will open up and display the student's application information along with a list of criteria you have been asked to rate or comment upon. You can have more than one evaluation open at the same time.
- If you are using Firefox 26 and are having issues with Evaluation PDFs not displaying, click the 'Firefox' button at the top, click 'Tools,' then click 'Options' (or, if you don't have a Tools menu, click 'Options'). Next, click the 'Applications' tab. For 'Portable Document Format (PDF),' the Action should be set to 'Preview in Firefox.' If you have the Acrobat plugin installed in your browser, you may alternately select 'Use Adobe Acrobat (in Firefox).'
Note that the student's application information may take a minute or two to load and requires you to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. Please be patient. You can save or print the student's information using the built-in Adobe Acrobat tools, but remember that these reports contain sensitive and sometimes restricted information, so you must ensure they are handled according to UW information security guidelines and should be deleted or shredded when you are done with your evaluation.
On the left-hand side of each tab are the criteria you have been asked to evaluate. Some criteria ask for a score, and some just ask for a note. When a score or note requires a response, it will be marked with an asterisk. You may save your responses at any time by clicking the 'Save' button. When your evaluation is completed, click the 'Submit' button. Once you have submitted an evaluation, you will be able to view the applications up to 60 days after the evaluation deadline, but you will no longer be able to change your responses. If you accidentally submit an evaluation or need to change a score for any reason after submitting, please contact your scholarship officer.
If you have any questions about reports, the criteria, or the evaluation process, please contact the scholarship officer who assigned you the evaluations. If you experience technical problems with this site, have feedback, or have any accessibility issues, please email email@example.com
Thank you again for taking time for this important part of our students' educational experience at UW-Madison!
