UWMSN - JEMS - Entering Data and Requesting HR Changes for Madison JEMS & HRS Users [Job Aid]

Departments and divisions at UW Madison enter hires, rehires and transfers directly into JEMS. There are different ways to make changes to employee data. This document lists some of the common changes that are requested and where to make the request or the change. There is also a table that clarifies which system to use for the most commonly used HR processes.

  • This document applies only to UW-Madison. Users from other campuses should refer to documentation intended for their campuses.
UW Madison departments typically cannot enter changes to an employee's job record in HRS. Some units will have their departments request changes through JEMS Job Changes. If the change is approved, it will be entered into HRS by the division. Below are some examples of changes that may need to occur in HRS.
