DATN and Firewalls in Windows and OS X

Procedure for letting video player through Windows and Apple OSX Operating Systems

Windows and OS X Firewalls block video players by default.  To use DATN, an exception for the video player must be added.  This usually happens automatically when the video player is first started.

InStream is the player for DATN. To launch InStream, the web page uses Java to run an applet to determine what platform it is running on and then start the player. Before it runs this applet, Java will notify you that a Java application has requested permission to run; please click OK.

One the Java applet does its work, the InStream player will launch, and the operating system will take action based on configuration - either passing DATN traffic or will notify you that InStream is requesting permission to access the network and ask you whether it is OK; please click OK.

The following are the multicast data for the new DATN.  This is here for those who want to allow the multicast through a hardware firewall.
