Remote VPN user notes for configuring Mac OS X Lion 10.7

The campus VPN remote access is hosted on Cisco ASA equipment, the following is a note for Apple OS X Lion 10.7 users.

AnyConnect Lion Support

AnyConnect 2.5.3051 provides support for Lion OS X 10.7.Without the appropriate JAVA and Web applet, OS X users may experience CSCtq62860 or CSCto09628. You must install JAVA and enable the appropriate Applet plug-in and web start applications using these steps:

Step 1 Open the JAVA Preferences when doing Hostscan or Weblaunch with Safari on OS X 10.7.

Step 2 If JAVA is not already installed, you are prompted to do so.

Step 3 Check the Enable applet plug-in and Web Start applications option.

CSCTq62860 Bug:

Symptom:OS X throws up a client closed unexpectedly message and crash report
Conditions: In some rare cases, the Client UI may crash
Workaround: Restart the AnyConnect application

CSCto09628 Bug:
[Lion] Filter error related to OCSP service checking
Symptom Get prompted for untrusted Server Certificate:
Conditions :Pre-3.0.3 AnyConnect Clients on OS X 10.7 may send a pop-up to user for untrusted cert
Workaround: Use 3.0.3 release client or accept the cert
