In July of 2008 the Administrative Information Management Services (AIMS) department formed within the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration. AIMS is a consolidation of existing IT services and staff with the goal of driving efficiencies through the use of shared infrastructure and talent. Acting as a complement to the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) and working in cooperation with the Office of the CIO, AIMS provides value added IT services that typically had been provided at the department/division level. AIMS offers a full scope of IT services including workstation life cycle management, customer support (Help Desk), storage services, application hosting and delivery, and web-based application development services.

Operations and Support Services

Operations and Support Services offers a complete set of infrastructure services based largely on Microsoft technologies while leveraging DoIT provided central services as appropriate.  This includes full-life cycle workstation management, software installation and support, Exchange email, file storage, database services (SQL Server and Oracle), application hosting, web hosting, and a 24/7 help desk.


This fully-managed and supported infrastructure is architected to meet the business needs of administrative customers.  All customers are given written service-level agreements that detail what is expected by both OSS and the customer.  OSS bases its support processes around industry standard methodologies and technologies to ensure that the terms of the service agreements are met.

AIMS Operations and Support Services (OSS) Help Desk

Calls received during off hours will be forwarded to voice mail which is checked every morning and throughout the day. The voice mail message will direct you on how to reach an on-call member of the support staff in the event of an emergency, such as a network outage.

Development Services

Development Services is a full-service application development team providing analysis, project management, programming and support.  Development Services specializes in designing and creating internet-delivered electronic workflow solutions of small to medium sized scope (2-12 months total duration). 


In addition, Development Services helps to implement software systems that are purchased from software vendors and integrate theses new systems with existing campus and department systems.  Development Services also writes electronic work flow applications to add functionality to these vendor provided systems.
