eduroam -- eduroam is a worldwide federated secure network for the research and education community and is available from almost all UW Madison buildings.

Authenticate to eduroam once per semester, and you'll have instant wireless connectivity from almost everywhere you go on the UW campus, and many other educational institutions.  eduroam can be configured from any laptop or smartphone.

WiscList -- WiscList is a free email distribution list service available to UW-Madison faculty, staff, and registered student organizations. It is self-serviced and administered using a powerful, secure, and easy-to-use web interface. These lists allow the sending of emails to many people by addressing the email to a single '@lists.wisc.edu' address.

UW Google Apps -- Collaborate in real-time with your colleagues to develop documents, spreadsheets, presentations and more.   Upload almost any file created by Microsoft Office and then edit using the Google Docs interface.    Once you see how easy it is to share with Google Docs, you’ll never email attachments again.  Now you can add Google Drive, which creates a simple "folder" on your PC, Mac, at work or at home, even on your mobile device.   Store any kind of file (PDF, Microsoft Office, etc.) in your Google Drive and it will be accessible and sharable from anywhere on any device.

Qualtrics Web Surveys -- Anyone can create and distribute professional-looking surveys easily using the Qualtrics web-based survey wizard.   Collect and store data, and produce reports with graphics and statistics.   FAQs and samples to help you get started at http://survey.wisc.edu

Working from home? -- If you’re working at home, make sure you are protected from viruses and malware using Symantec Anti-virus, a free download from UW DoIT.   (And yes, even if you have a Mac, you need anti-virus software!)

To access some UW or SMPH resources (like your office desktop or the SMPH network (MSAD) file server) from home, you must have an authorized campus network address.   Get that by installing a WiscVPN AnyConnect Client on your home computer.

Voice Mail - Web PhoneManager -- Missing important calls?   Need to pick up voicemails when you're away from the office?  Set up Web PhoneMananger receive VoiceMail messages electronically via an emailed audio file.   Manage your voicemail messages via a web interface.

Doodle -- Need to schedule a meeting with folks who are not on the UW WiscCal system?   Easy to do with Doodle.   Select several available meeting times then type in the email addresses of all those you need to invite. Each recipient can identify the best meeting time options for his schedule, and once everyone responds you can set up your meeting -- or survey for another set of schedule options.

Training Videos - Lynda.com -- Need to learn how to use Photoshop, Excel, or various other skills.  Lynda.com training videos are available to current UW-Madison students, faculty, and staff through a campus license.
