Learn@UW - Customizing a Learn@UW Course Homepage
To change or add widgets to a course homepage in Learn@UW, instructors must create a custom homepage. Customization can be done by creating a new homepage, adding or moving "widgets," which are the boxes with the black headers, and activating the new homepage.
Step one (optional): Create the desired new widgets

To add new content to the homepage:
1. Click on Course Admin in the navigation bar to open the drop-down menu. Select Edit Course.
2. Select .
3. Click the button.
4. Name the new widget, and then click over the Content tab to enter widget content.
5. Preview the new widget by clicking the button.
6. Finish by clicking .

Step two: Create a new homepage and arrange widgets
a) To create a new homepage, click .b) To build on the default home page, click the to the right of the homepage name and select . Click on any (blue) linked homepage to edit it.
4. Use the button to add widgets to the desired homepage section. Select the desired widgets, then click . Click on a widget to set widget options, or drag and drop the widgets to reorder.a) Design a widget-based homepage. The number and arrangement of panels on the homepage can be changed by clicking . Select the desired layout and click .b) Make an existing tool the homepage (i.e. if you want your course homepage to be the same as your content view), and select a tool under the drop-down menu.c) Make an existing URL the homepage. (i.e. if you want to use an external course site as your home page), and type in an URL, including the www in the URL box.
Step three: Activate the new homepage
From the Homepages screen, click on the drop-down menu and click to select your new homepage. To activate, click the Apply button. Active homepages are marked .
