WiscList - Approving Moderated Messages

If a WiscList is moderated, list administrators must approve messages before they are posted to the list. When a message is received by the list, it is stored in an approval queue. You will be notified via email when there is a new message awaiting approval. There are two ways you can approve or reject the message.

Approve/Reject via WiscList Admin

  1. Log in to the WiscList Admin and click My Lists.
  2. Any lists that have messages awaiting approval will have a link directly below the list name that will say: [#] message(s) need approval. Clicking this link will bring you to a screen displaying all messages awaiting approval for that list.
  3. Choose to approve or reject the message by clicking Send Mailing or Reject.
  4. You may optionally notify the sender and / or the other list administrators when you've approved / rejected a message by selecting the appropriate checkboxes.

Approve/Reject via Email

List administrators will be notified by email when a message is pending approval. This email will contain a direct link to the message that will look something like this:

You can follow this direct link to the message: https://admin.lists.wisc.edu/index.php?p=38&m=14241110

Follow the link in the email, then choose to approve or reject the message by clicking Send Mailing or Reject.

You may optionally notify the sender and / or the other list administrators when you've approved / rejected a message by selecting the appropriate checkboxes.
