Error message, "NIS Elements has stopped working" body of message "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available" followed with "Close program" button.
User received this error when launching NIS Elements, followed by selecting "Close program" and the program will not restart. Covered in troubleshooting is restarting the computer, testing under another user profile and deleting the local user profile. When testing NIS under a different user profile, NIS Elements functioned normal. However when testing under the original user, the error message persisted.
Resolution, at the root of C:\ user profiles for NIS instrument support are save to C:\ProgramData\Laboratory Imaging\Platform identified by the user profile (fig 1.) that matches the computer login profile, locate the user profile and delete the folder. There is also a corresponding registry key at [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Laboratory Imaging\Platform] with sub key identified by the corresponding user profile (fig 2.). delete the key.
