Internal Moodle - Library Course Pages (LCP) Block

UW-Madison has adopted Canvas as its single, centrally supported learning management system. As of 6/1/2018, support for Desire2Learn (D2L) and most Moodle courses has been discontinued. Access to those courses has permanently ended. However, certain Moodle courses that are part of the Adanced Quizzing Content Functional Gaps project are still available on Moodle. Those courses are located on the Moodle Extension site.

Layout and configuration of the Library Course Pages (LCP) block.

Since content of this block is determined by UW-Libraries, there are only a few things to configure: the library XML feed URL (LCP Prefix) and the depth of display (Link Depth).

  • LCP Prefix - this is the current location of the UW libraries XML feed and is the basis from which all class data is found
  • Link Depth - for each UW course the library provides an XML feed of the data used to create their pages.  Particularly, there are tabs which denote different sections of data such as Reserves, Ask your librarian, or Library services.  The Link Depth configuration allows the block to either return only a link to each UW course section's library course page (the LCP Main Page option) or to each individual tab (the LCP Tabs option).
