UWSC Support - HRS Security Awareness - Accessing and Self-Registering for the Course
This document describes the process used to access the HRS Security Awareness course.
Accessing the HRS Security Awareness Course
The HRS Security Awareness courses are hosted on the UW System Administration (UWSA) D2L page. This page can be accessed by navigating to http://www.wisconsin.edu/d2l/.
Once at the UWSA D2L homepage, users log in by clicking the appropriate login link for their role. Users will need to select their campus and log in using their normal campus username and password.

Taking the Course
Once logged in, users will be taken to their D2L homepage. If already registered, users can click the link to the course under "My Courses" to begin the training module. If the course does not display in the "My Courses" area, users will need to self-register.
How to Self-Register
To self-register, click the "Self Registration" link underneath the "Desire2Learn UWSA" banner on the top of the page.
On the self registration page, select "HRS Security Awareness" from the list of available courses. NOTE: If the course is not a clickable link, the user has already been registered for the course. This can be confirmed by checking the "Enrollment Status" column.
Once the HRS Security Awareness course has been clicked, a decription will appear. Click "Register" to move on to the next step. Once at step 2, click "Submit" to complete the registration. The course will now be available on the D2L homepage.
- Authentication Errors: If, when logging in, users encounter an "authentication failed" error or a "login failed" error, there is likely a problem with the username and/or password. Users should contact their local IT group to resolve these types of issues.
- Internal Server (500) Errors When Attempting to Reach Website: If users encounter an "Internal Server" (500) error when attempting to access the UWSA instance of D2L, they should contact the UW Service Center for support.
- Other errors: If any other error messages occur, please clear the web browser's cache and cookies (Clearing Browser Cache and Cookies) before contacting the UW Service Center for support.
