iSCSI Storage - Registration and Account Summary

This document describes the registration for DoIT's iSCSI Storage service offering.

Please install iSCSI prior to filling out the registration form so that you have an iSCSI address defined. Registration form can be found here:
https://filestorage.doit.wisc.edu/request/

Once your profile is complete, you'll have access to DoIT's File & Data Storage Request Form where you can create a new request, update an existing request, access past bills, and more.

New request

  1. Select "Home" from the Main Menu on the left side of the DoIT File & Data Storage Request Form.
  2. Select "Create New Request"
  3. Fill in the required information and select "Submit."

Update existing request

To increase storage:

Note: You may request additional storage at any time via the request form.
  1. Select "Home" from the Main Menu on the left side of the page.
  2. Click on the "Your Approved Requests" tab.
  3. Find the request you want to modify and select "clone."
  4. Complete the form as you did when making a new request, except select "Increase" under Storage Connections. Select the server you want to update and modify the amount of storage you need. Select "Submit."

To add a drive to an existing server:

  1. Select "Home" from the Main Menu on the left side of the DoIT File & Data Storage Request Form.
  2. Click on the "Your Approved Requests" tab.
  3. Find the request you want to modify and select "clone."
  4. Select "new" under Storage Connections, which will add a drive to an existing server.

To access past bills:

  1. Select "My Servers" from the Main Menu on the left side of the DoIT File & Data Storage Request Form.
  2. Select "View" from your list of Active and Inactive Servers to access your billing history, current and past.

To discontinue service:

Note: You may terminate storage billing at any point simply by filing a removal request. Removal requests may take up to 10 working days to process. Storage service shall be provided until the customer files a request to have the storage removed, or DoIT discontinues the service.
  1. Select “Home” from the Main Menu on the left side of the DoIT File & Data Storage Request Form.
  2. Click on the "View/Edit" link associated with the server you want to delete.
  3. Select the "Discontinue Service" button under Storage Connections.
