Learn@UW - Login Procedures for UW-Stout

The login procedure for UW-Stout faculty and students is as follows.

A user may have a Campus account or a Special Internal account. Most instructors and students have Campus accounts. Special Internal accounts are created within the D2L Learning Environment and are typically used for guests and test accounts. The following rules apply only to Campus accounts:

Username

The username is the same as the UW-Stout email username (which is the user's last name and one or more letters of the first name). Do not include "@uwstout.edu".

Password

The password is the same as the UW-Stout email password.

The only exceptions – and there are very few of them – are usernames for test students or visitors from off campus.

Logon URLs

The logon page for UWSTOUT is http://www.uwstout.edu/lit/lts/learn/index.cfm .

  • If you have a Campus account, press the blue "UW-Stout Login" button.
  • If you have a Special Internal account, press the orange "Visitor Login" button.

Login Troubleshooting

If the Learn@UW user encounters an "Invalid Username/Password" error while logging into Learn@UW, proceed as follows:

  1. Refer to Learn@UW - General Troubleshooting Steps for Login Problems.

  2. Have the user go to the following site for password help: https://password.uwstout.edu/. This site can be used by Faculty, Staff and Students to Change or Reset Passwords.

  3. If resetting the password via this web site fails, have the user email learn@uwstout.edu.

  4. Note that UW-Stout has a one year password expiration policy. Students will be notified at login that their password has expired and directed to the password change website: https://password.uwstout.edu/ .

Enrollment Problems Troubleshooting

If the student can log into Learn@UW, but does not see courses listed on his/her homepage, go through the following:

  1. Students need to contact their instructor directly if they do not have access to their course(s) on or after the official start date of the course.

  2. If a student recently added a course, he/she should wait 24-48 hours for the data to be updated in the system.

  3. If a student needs immediate access to the course, please have the student contact his/her instructor. The instructor can manually enroll the student into the course.
