Connecting to the Display for the Pods in 3250

This document describes how to use the displays in room 3250 of College Library.

To connect your computer to the nearby display, locate the panel shown below (There is one at each pod which can connect to a projector).  Turn on the monitor by pressing the power button.  If you are attempting to use the provided computer, press the Local PC button.  If you are trying to use your own laptop, connect it to either the HDMI or VGA cables which are located near to the panel.  Once you have connected your computer to the HDMI or VGA cable, select the appropriate button (either Local VGA or Local HDMI) and your image will appear on the display.

To view the image that a professor is displaying on the projector, press the Power button, then press the Projector button.

If the image does not appear on the TV, click the button for the other input, then reselect the correct one.  For example, if you are trying to use HDMI, push the Local VGA button, wait a few seconds, and then press the Local HDMI button again.  If you are still having problems getting an image up on the display, contact the front desk.

*If you are using your own computer, you may need to adjust the screen resolution to match the monitor’s depending on your screen size.

1)    A) If you are using Windows 7 right click on the desktop and select Screen Resolution

B) If you are using Windows XP, right click on the desktop and select Properties, then click on the Settings tab

C) If you are using Apple OS X, click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner and select System Preferences.  Then click on Displays.  Click Display if it is not already selected.

2)       From here you should be able to change the screen resolution to work with your television.  If your aspect ratio is different from the TV, you may see some of the edges will be cut off regardless of the resolution you choose.
