SIS - Hours of Operation

This document provides information on what the SIS hours of availability are.

NOTE: SIS will not be available from June 28, 2019 at 4:00p.m. to July 8, 2019 at 8:00a.m.

Users, including instructors, departmental staff, and students, will not be able to access SIS during this period. The upgraded version will be available starting Monday, July 8 at 8:00a.m.

SIS-dependent systems, such as DARS, Course Search and Enroll app and CashNet will also be unavailable or not updated during this outage. Class rosters in Canvas and WiscList Classlist will not be updated during the outage, and thus will reflect class enrollments as of Friday, June 28.

During this time period, there will be no transactions occurring to and/or from SIS. All enrollment, grading, updates, etc. will not be available within SIS or SIS-dependent systems.

  • Self-service applications such as enrollment, which use SIS, are available 24x7.
    Requests for transcripts may be made at any time; however, between the hours of midnight - 6:00 a.m., the printing may be delayed because the service which processes these requests may be undergoing maintenance. However, once the service is available again, processing of transcripts will resume without further action by the requester.
  • SIS access hours for non-students (faculty and staff) using their NetID access is 24x7.

  •  Standard access hours for student workers are from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

    Users that need extended access will have to complete an Extended Access Request Form. This form can be found by clicking here, and selecting the SIS Extended Access (.pdf) link.

Normal SIS maintenance is starts Sunday at 6AM and ends sometime between Noon and 6PM. SIS maintenance is sometimes scheduled on Saturday mornings due to other campus activities. SIS is not available when maintenance is being performed. See the list of DoIT outages for details regarding the schedule.
