SIS - Hours of Operation
This document provides information on what the SIS hours of availability are.
Self-service applications such as enrollment, which use SIS, are available 24x7.
Requests for transcripts may be made at any time; however, between the hours of midnight - 6:00 AM, the printing may be delayed because the mainframe transaction which processes these requests may be undergoing its regular nightly maintenance cycle. However, once the mainframe task SISTRAN is available again, processing and printing of transcripts will resume.
SIS access hours for non-students (faculty and staff) using their NetID access is 24x7.
Standard access hours for student workers are from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Users that need extended access will have to complete an Extended Access Request Form. This form can be found by going to https://it.wisc.edu/about/office-of-the-cio/cybersecurity/security-tools-software/authorizations/authorization-systems-and-getting-access/, and selecting the SIS Extended Access (.pdf) link.
Normal SIS maintenance is starts Sunday at 6AM and ends sometime between Noon and 6PM. SIS maintenance is sometimes scheduled on Saturday mornings due to other campus activities. SIS is not available when maintenance is being performed. See the list of DoIT outages for details regarding the schedule.
