Course Proposal - Why is there a hold on a proposal?
The subject owner, school/college, university curriculum committee or Registrar's Office can place a hold on a course proposal in the standard course approval process. Affected units cannot place a hold on a proposal.
The proposal cannot advance in the course proposal process or receive approvals by other units until the hold is removed. Only the academic unit that places the hold can remove the hold.
The academic unit that places the hold may do so for any number of reasons. Holds are typically placed because information is missing or clarification is needed. The academic unit placing the hold will add a comment explaining why the hold was placed.
