(SMPH Mailrooms) Reset PackageTrack 8.1 Handheld Scanner
Problem: The Scanner device has lost power or fails to connect properly at the workstation. These steps will restore the Package Track settings on the scanner, from the previously backed up configuration. Note that any scanned data that has not been uploaded previously will be lost.
Fully charge the device in a dock. Then go to: Start > Settings > Control Panel > Device Settings > Backup > Restore to restore the PackageTrack program to the handheld.
After restoring the settings and the handheld reboots, go to Start > Control Panel > Scanner and select the option to keep the scanner on after that window is closed.
Place the scanner in the workstation-connected dock, and connect using Windows Mobile Sync. Launch PackageTrack on the workstation and select File > Sync with handheld and select the Send Data tab. Send data to the handheld from the Packagetrack program and all the current users should be restored.
If these steps fail to reset the handheld properly, on the scanner device go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Power and do a hard reboot, then repeat the above steps.
If the problem still exists, contact IT to reinstall the scanner software.
