BN - Benefits Exception Reports
The Benefit Exception Reports are to be used as a validation tool for when paper applications for enrollments are necessary from an employee when the Hire event is used for those enrollments.
The Benefits Exception Reports are generated and delivered on the Tuesday of a biweekly payroll week. The reports are delivered to Cypress in PDF format. The four reports are:
- SGL Exception Report - represents State Group Life enrollments
- Life Exception Report (Non-SGL) - represents Life Insurance enrollments other than State Group Life.
- Health Exception Report - represents enrollment in all health plans (1x plans)
- Disability Exception Report - represents enrollment into disability plans (ICI, for example).
These reports are only generated for employees that have had elections made using a Hire event in HRS. The reports represent the necessity for a paper application for that employee's enrollment.
IMPORTANT NOTE: While an employee may have enrolled into some insurance plans via eBenefits - if no election was made for State Group Life or Income Continuation Insurance but an ADM (Administrative) Event was used to future-date the enrollment, the employee will still appear on this report. A paper application will still be necessary for this enrollment.
While the Benefits Exception Reports are being delivered to all campus Benefit Administrators through Cypress, they are especially key to eBenefits campuses. These reports are a validation tool to ensure that proper paperwork has been filled for employees that have not submitted their own elections through self-service.
