ShareURL - Public ShareURL Eligibility

This document describes the eligibility critieria for the automatic Public ShareURL created for calendar eligible accounts.

Every Office 365 account has a Public ShareURL by default that displays only the account's Free/Busy information by default.
The following individuals are excluded from having this automatic default Public ShareURL:

  • The student that owns the account has requested privacy for their email address via a FERPA hold.
  • The owner of the account has logged into ShareURL and "opted out" from having a Public ShareURL.

If you are searching for a Public ShareURL and you do not receive a result for a known email address, it is because that account meets one of the aforementioned criteria. For privacy reasons, neither the Help Desk nor the Office 365 Support team will tell you which rule applies to someone else's account.

You can learn more about Public ShareURL at ShareURL - About Public ShareURL.
