Manifest - Accepting New NetID Invitations (Group Members)
Users who do not have a NetID will be presented with the opportunity to create one after being invited to join a group with NetID creation privileges. The instructions below detail the process for creating a new NetID through the Manifest system.
Note: This document is intended for recipients of group invitation emails. If you are folder or group administrator wanting to invite affiliate users (those without a NetID), please refer to Manifest - Creating New NetIDs (Group Owners).
After being added by a group manager or administrator, you will receive an email inviting you to join the group.
Click the link in the email to be taken to the Manifest website.
You will be presented with a screen which asks, "Do you have a UW NetID?" If you do not have a UW NetID, click "No" to be taken through the NetID creation process.
NOTE: If you already have a NetID, you must click "Yes." Failure to do so may result in loss of services and perhaps data loss.
On the following screen, enter your first name, middle name (optional), last name, and date of birth.
Once the required fields have been completed, click Submit to have a NetID requested for you.
You will receive an email when the NetID is ready to activate. Click the link in the email to create your NetID, set your password and complete the recovery questions.
Creating a NetID binds you to UW-Madison Responsible Use of Information Technology Policy which can be found here: http://www.cio.wisc.edu/policies-responsibleuse.aspx. Failure to comply with these policies will result in revocation of your NetID.
For assistance with the NetID activation process, refer to NetID - Activating Your Account.
Note: It can take up to an hour for NetIDs created through Manifest to be able to access services. This includes the ability to access the Manifest application itself.
