Interactive Reporting - Returning to IE 9 After an IE 10 Update

If you are not comfortable with the IE 10 upgrade and setting the compatibility mode may easily return to IE 9 by following these instructions to remove IE 10 and get back to IE 9.

Note: Interactive Reporting, including both the IR Workspace (web) and the Studio Desktop client, will be decommissioned on March 1st, 2019. Neither the web nor the desktop software will be available or supported after this date.

UW-Madison affiliates can find more information on alternative tools on the Office of Data Management and Analytics Services website.

Other UW System affiliates can find additional information, as well as a list of support contacts, on the UWBI Support website.

Basically, you need to uninstall IE 10 and IE9 is automatically restored once you complete this process.

First of all, click on the “Start” button and type “Programs and Features” in the search box. Click on the “View installed updates” in the left pane of the menu.

Go over to the “Uninstall an update” screen and scroll down to the “Microsoft Windows” section. Select Internet Explorer 10 and click “Uninstall.” It usually takes a while until the process comes to an end so avoid stopping or canceling. A reboot is necessary to complete the removal and restore to IE 9.

Remove the "automatically update" check for I.E. or it may automatically update to IE 10 again.
