What does the Tech Store sell for Departmental Purchase?

Computers

DoIT sells Apple and Dell computers to UW-Madison departments. Faculty, staff, and students are eligible to purchase items personally, see: What does the Tech Store sell for Personal Purchase? to find out how to purchase personally.

Apple computers can either be purchased as standard models through the Tech Store or as custom builds through the Apple Custom Builds site. Departments can purchase Dell computers through the Materials Distribution Services (MDS).

Software

All UW-System departments are eligible to purchase software and reference manuals from DoIT (SPSS, SAS, and SYSTAT are limited to UW-Madison purchasers only). If you are looking to purchase and are from a department not associated with the UW-Madison campus, you would want to order through the WISC (Wisconsin Integrated Software Catalog) site. If you are a department associated with the UW-Madison campus you can either purchase through WISC or the Departmental Store.

Hardware and Peripherals

DoIT sells a variety or hardware and peripherals to departments including: printers, scanners, memory, internal/external hard drives, toner, and cables. To view a more complete listing of products the Tech Store sells, see: Hardware and Peripherals.

Repair and Installation of Computers

DoIT offers upgrades, repair, and installation of computer components and software. For more information about pricing and the services offered, see: Repair's homepage.

Ways to Purchase

Departments may purchase software, hardware, computers, and peripherals by DoIT Number, Departmental check or procurement card.  There are three ways in which a UW-Madison department can purchase: online (through the Tech Store or WISC site), over the phone, or in store.
