Office 365 (Outlook 2011) - Update or cancel a appointment/meeting

If you are the organizer of a meeting, you can change the meeting details and send an update to the attendees. You can also send a meeting cancelation so that the attendees can remove the meeting from their calendars.

What do you want to do?


HideUpdate a meeting/appointment

  1. Locate the meeting on your calendar, and then double-click the meeting to open it.

    If you want to update all instances of a recurring meeting, on the Meeting tab, click Edit Series.

  2. Change the options that you want.
  3. On the Meeting tab, click Send Update or Save & Close.

HideCancel/Delete a meeting/appointment

  1. Locate the meeting on your calendar, and then double-click the meeting to open it.
  2. On the Meeting tab, click Cancel or Delete.

     Note   If the meeting is recurring, the Cancel button is a menu with the options to delete the single Occurrence or the Series.

  3. If you want to, type a message to invitees in the Message window.
  4. On the Meeting tab, click Send Cancellation.

HideSet Recurrence

  1. Open the appointment/meeting that you want to set to recur.
  2. On the Appointment tab, in the Options group, click Recurrence
    recurrence button.
  3. Click the frequency â€” Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly â€” with which you want the appointment to recur, and then select the options for the frequency.
  4. On the Recurring Appointment tab, in the Actions group, click Save & Close.
