ResNet - Unable to View ResNet Registration Page
When plugging a new computer into ResNet's network, a web browser should automatically redirect to ResNet's registration page.
Note: During peak hours (fall rush and beginning of spring semester), the ResNet registration page may be slow or unresponsive. ResNet has a limited number of connections it can allow at once. Please be patient and keep trying intermittently to access the page.
If the web browser does not redirect to the ResNet site, you should first check to see if they are getting a valid IP address. If they are not there are 3 common problems you should check for:
- An invalid IP address is a sign that there are network configuration issues between the computer and ResNet.
- The computer's DNS is not configured properly, so it cannot redirect to registration. Check in the computer's network settings.
- The computer's web browser is configured to use a proxy, which is preventing it from communicating with ResNet.
Checking for a Valid IP Address
Valid IP addresses for unregistered computers on ResNet are 172.x.x.x. In order to verify that the computer is getting an IP address in this range, use the following documents:

Checking for Correct DNS Information
