D2L - Non NetID account Request (UW-Madison)
UW-Madison is adopting Canvas as the single, centrally supported learning management system, and discontinuing support for Desire2Learn (D2L) and Moodle. Access to D2L and Moodle will permanently end June 1, 2018. For information about retaining materials from D2L or Moodle, please refer to this document.
To request a Non NetID account for use within D2L (eg: for testing the student view of quizzes and grades or to give access to someone not eligible for a NetID), it is necessary for instructors to fill out the request form. This access does not extend beyond D2L to other services, such as access to Library Reserves.
For iClicker Instructor or Pseudo Student, you'll only need to include your information in the Instructor Info section.
For a Non-UW Madison Visitor, after changing the Account Type, a new section will appear below for the visitor's information. The submitter information (someone with an active NetID) should fill the boxes in the Instructor Info section. Please note, the form does not auto-fill with your information.
The Madison Support Team will fulfill your request within a few days.
Note: To give existing UW-Madison users (meaning, those who currently have a NetID) access to your course, please see D2L - Adding Participants to a Course. Users added through "Add Participants" gain course access immediately.
