UW-Madison Box - User Cannot Log Into Enterprise Account

This document explains what to do if your Box account was originally set up as a personal account, preventing you from logging into a UW-Madison Enterprise account.

In case you are unsure of whether your account is personal or enterprise, the following indicates you are using a personal account:

  • Upon logging in, your account is labeled as a "Personal Account", the tool bar color is blue, and you do not have unlimited storage
  • Attempting to log into https://uwmadison.box.com/ results in an "Invalid Login Credentials" error message.

If you created a Box account for personal use prior to UW-Madison's Enterprise agreement being established, or if you created your account directly through Box.com using your WiscMail address, you can request to have your account migrated.

To have your personal account migrated, please contact the DoIT Help Desk. Your request will be forwarded on to the UW-Madison Box team, who will contact you with an official invitation to migrate your account within 1-2 business days. Because this is a migration, you will not lose any content already uploaded to your personal account.
