Moodle - PoodLL Assignment Type

UW-Madison has adopted Canvas as its single, centrally supported learning management system. As of 6/1/2018, support for Desire2Learn (D2L) and most Moodle courses has been discontinued. Access to those courses has permanently ended. However, certain Moodle courses that are part of the Adanced Quizzing Content Functional Gaps project are still available on Moodle. Those courses are located on the Moodle Extension site.

The PoodLL assignment type allows instructors to have students instantaneously record and submit video recordings, audio recordings, snapshots, and whiteboard files in assignments.

To create a PoodLL assignment type, first create an assignment using the normal process found here.

When editing the settings of the assignment, go to the "Submission settings" section and check the "Online PoodLL" box.

You can then select the type of submission you would like students to upload.
NOTE: It is recommended to use the "MP3 Voice Recorder" as there are less problems reported with that recorder type than with the "Voice Recorder (Red5)"

Once you select the desired settings, select Save and display or Save and return to course at the bottom of the screen.

When students select to "Add" or "Edit" their submission for that assignment, a PoodLL widget will appear for them to either record audio, record video, take a snapshot, or work on a virtual whiteboard.
