3270 - Mainframe Secured FTP Required
The DoIT Mainframe, (blue.doit.wisc.edu) no longer accepts unsecured FTP as a protocol.
Why FTPS?This security measure was taken to minimize the possible risk of exposing restricted and sensitive information while moving files to and from the Mainframe. This secured protocol for file copying, FTPS (aka FTP over SSL), is the only supported FTP mechanism. SFTP is not supported.
Possible Error MessagesThe message one gets for failing to use a secure protocol vary depending on the specific client in use. In most cases it is error number 534.
