Advising Compacts - Best Practices

Advising is an integral part of both the faculty and graduate student experience.  The Graduate School has collected a series of best-practice examples of advising compacts; though some resources may seem field-specific, all contain general best-practices guidelines that may be applied to programs from any division.

Research Mentoring - a campus site with mentoring resources, including:
Mentoring Compact/Contract examples Frameworks for helping mentors customize their compacts
Build Your Own Compact (requires a brief registration to access) - including introduction to mentor training, maintaining effective communication, aligning expectations, providing professional development and assessing understanding.
