ResNet-Wireless Device Incompatibility List

A list of the all the devices that are incompatible with the ResNet-Wireless network

Due to the fact that ResNet-Wireless is a managed network, multiple types of devices do not function correctly when attempting to use ResNet-Wireless as its main connection to the internet. However, do note that if you have a wireless router and therefore a private local network, you should be able to use your devices normally. These devices will only not function when connected directly to ResNet-Wireless.
  • The Nintendo Wii game console
  • Wireless Printers
  • Google Chromecast
  • Amazon FireStick
  • Any device that uses Apple Airplay to interact wirelessly (ex: iHomes)
  • Netgear WRNR2000v5-N300 Wireless Router (for more information about recommended routers, please reference: https://kb.wisc.edu/housing/page.php?id=74927)

[This list will be updated as more device incompatibilities are discovered.]
