Learn@UW - Drag and Drop Facility to Upload Files May Not Work with Internet Explorer

The Drag and Drop facility to upload files into various tools of the Learning Environment may not work if you are using Internet Explorer.

Whether or not the Drag and Drop facility works using Internet Explorer depends upon what version you are using:

 IE 9
 Does not work
 IE 10
 Works with newer sub-versions
 IE 11
 Works

The Drag and Drop facility works if you are using other supported browsers: The latest versions of Firefox, Chrome, or (for Mac OS X) Safari.

If Drag and Drop does not work, you see the message "Your browser does not support dropping files from your device" in the area you should be able to deposit file(s).

Drag and Drop Not Supported

If Drag and Drop does work, you see the message "Drop files here, or click below!" in the area you can deposit file(s).

Drag and Drop Works

If the Drag and Drop facility does not work for you, you may use the conventional method (non-Drag  and Drop) to upload files or use another browser.
